MY STIMULUS PACKAGE, LET ME SHOW IT TO YOU

Posted in harper_sucks

So Obama is coming to Ottawa! As we all know, the visit will be kept very short , and the Prez will not address Parliament. * pouts *

Does anybody know whose decision this was? Does the Big O not want to make a fuss and keep the meeting business-like? (Note how I extend the benefit of the doubt.)

Or is Stevie jealous that Prez O is prettier and more popular than he is? Is he throwing a hissy fit over the “Buy American” clause in the Stimulus Package? He could be (sensibly) trying to keep the security cost of the visit minimal, but I doubt it.

I've just discovered harper_sucks. I love it.

Do visiting heads of state usually address Parliment? I don't think they do, unless it's something Big. But I could be wrong. Business-like is probably good.

*Shudders at memory of Mulroney and Regan singing "When Irish Eyes Are Smilin'"

*Imagines Obama and Harper singing "If You Voted for Me (Put Your Hands Up)"*

I have memories of Bush’s 2004 visit to Halifax: Very high security with Police in Flak and riot gear, 1000’s of people protesting.

In other news, the DVD player attached to my TV is frakked. If the warranty is still good, I would have to *shudders *ship the whole TV back: Not an option. I might borrow my Mom’s DVD player (she has two and is in California for the winter, poor thing).

In the meantime, my ever-reliable iMac will play DVD’s.

Sorry to bore you with the mundane details of my little life, but this is ANNOYING!!!

Ugh. Those all-in-one things are destined for trouble. It would probably cost you more to ship it than buying a new DVD player, now that they're so cheap. Don't they have cables to hook computers to TVs now?

What is it with me and DVD players?

I'll see how my mon's work. It even has a -wait for it- VCR function. How retro.

I may buy a cheap one since the costlier ones don't seem any better.

My old VCR worked faithfully for 18 years, My "Ghetto Blaster" is circa 1989 and still going. Arggg.

Don't they have cables to hook computers to TVs now?

Maybe, sounds complicated. I'll wait until the TV and computer are one.
